Dover, Del. (June 1, 2013) – Trevor Bayne posted his second straight strong performance, with a fourth-place finish in Saturday’s 200-mile Nationwide Series race at Dover International Speedway.
“We had a really good strategy, where we decided to take two tires and it got us that track position that we needed all day,” said Bayne.
“Our Ford was really good and we could run lap times with the leaders; we just needed to get by them,” added Bayne. “I’m pretty excited about this run. It does a lot for our team. Finishing sixth last week and following it up with a fourth seems like progress. We didn’t have anything crazy go wrong. We got the finish we deserve and we are excited about it.”
Fellow Roush Fenway driver Travis Pastrana posted and impressive 15th–place finish in his Monster Mile debut.
“Honestly, I’m pretty happy with 15th,” said Pastrana. “Especially with as far off as we were in practice yesterday. I drove my butt off today. I just want to thank Jack Roush and everyone for really sticking behind me. Fifteen is good, but I want to be better, I want to be faster; I’ll keep pushing myself.”
With the finish Bayne moved to 10th in the Nationwide Series point standings.
Roush Fenway and the Nationwide Series return to action next weekend at Iowa Speedway. RFR has won three times in the NNS at Iowa.
