Long Pond, Penn. (June 9, 2013) – Roush Fenway Racing’s (RFR) Greg Biffle finished second to lead the RFR effort in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Pocono Raceway. It marked Roush Fenway’s 13th runner-up finish, to go with four victories at the ‘Tricky Triangle”. Biffle used the strong run to move back inside the top-10 in the NASCAR Sprint Cup point standings.
“A second-place finish here is great and we are really exciting about next week and going to Michigan,” said Biffle. “We still have a little bit of work to do on our cars. These guys are just a little bit faster. We drove really hard to day and had great pit stops to work our way up there, but we are certainly looking forward to next week.”
RFR’s Carl Edwards, who started on the outside the front row and led nine laps early, finished 18th. Rookie Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finished 26th in his NASCAR Pocono debut.
Edwards remains second in the Sprint Cup point standings, while Biffle jumped to 10th. Stenhouse is currently 20th; 34 points behind Biffle and 10th.
Roush Fenway and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series return to action next weekand at Michigan International Speedway, where the team has won 12 times in Sprint Cup action.
