LONG POND, Pa. (Aug. 3, 2014) – Greg Biffle used a combination of pit strategy and determined driving to lead Roush Fenway with a fifth-place finish in Sunday’s 400-mile NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Pocono Raceway.
Biffle stayed out under a late caution and led 11 laps before giving up the lead; but not without a fight, battling to the end to finish fifth in his 3M Ford Fusion. Currently 16th in the points, Biffle currently holds a spot in the ‘Chase’ for the Sprint Cup, along with teammate Carl Edwards.
Both Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Edwards were caught up in a late multi-car accident, finishing 18th and 29th.
Roush Fenway and the NSCS return to action next weekend at Watkins Glen for the circuits’ second and final road course race of the season. Roush Fenway and Edwards won the first road course race of the season earlier this year at Sonoma.
