Richmond, VA. (April 27, 2012) - After turning in the second-fastest time during practice, Greg Biffle and the 3M team were confident they would be able to put the 3M/Give Kids a Smile Ford at the front of the field for the start of the race. Biffle was the next-to-last driver to take the track for time trials and turned in a lap time of 21.356 seconds. That time puts him in the 28th position for the start of Saturday night's race. Mark Martin, who went out last, took the pole with a time of 21.040 seconds.
"We just lacked overall grip," said Biffle. "I'm not entirely sure what happened out there but we just didn't have enough grip to lay down a fast enough lap."
