Bondo Body Filler - A Staple in Racing

Concord, N.C. (August 24, 2012) – If you watched the 2010 Daytona 500 you will probably recall the race being stopped for a large hole in the track.  What you might not know is that Bondo Filler saved the day.  The track used Bondo to fill in the hole and the race was able to continue to the finish.  When not being used to fill in potholes, Bondo has many uses for people at home and at work.

Bondo is a staple product for every race team, and this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway Greg Biffle’s No. 16 3M Ford will have a special Bondo paint scheme Saturday night under the lights.  Roush Fenway uses Bondo Filler in the shop on a daily basis and on the road it comes in handy for any body work that might need to be done.

“We use 3M Bondo on every single racecar,” said No. 16 team tire specialist Wesley Lape. “We use it to clean up welds and make sure the racecars look nice and smooth and aerodynamic.  If our sheet metal gets bent and doesn’t quite fit the templates, we can use body filler to fill out the area.  It’s like duct tape, it’s a good thing to have on hand. We can put it anywhere to fill a crack.”

If you have a Bondo Filler story you might win a trip to Championship week in Las Vegas this December.  Simply visit this website:   http://bondosweepstakes.com/ and enter for a chance to celebrate in Vegas.
