Braun Helps Kick Off Anti-Texting Campaign in St. Louis

Concord, N.C. (July 14, 2010) – Colin Braun will join officials from Con-way Freight and the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) as the MSHP unveils a statewide anti-texting campaign on Friday, July 16 at 11:30 CST.  Braun will join Bill Wynne, Vice President of Marketing for Con-way Freight and top MSHP officers as the group unveils the new initiative as well as the campaign’s logo which will be featured on the hood of the No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford in this weekend’s Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers 250 at Gateway International Raceway.  Braun will be made available to media members at the conclusion of Friday’s event. 
 
“I’m honored to be partnered with my sponsor Con-way Freight, as well as the Missouri State Highway Patrol in launching their anti-texting campaign,” Braun said.  “Accidents involving cell phones and texting are so prevalent these days, especially among drivers my age.  I have to be focused all the time when I’m in my race car and I think it’s good to encourage everyone to do the same while they are out on the road.”
 
Braun heads to Gateway International Raceway with four top-12 finishes in his last five starts as well as some solid experience at the 1.25-mile track.  In two Camping World Truck Series starts, Braun has notched one top-10 finish and a pole award.  The rookie of the year candidate also scored a top-10 finish in a 2007 ARCA Series start.  Looking to improve on his solid finishes and build consistency, Braun will pilot the No. 16 for the next five races. 
 
The Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers 250 at Gateway International Raceway is scheduled for Saturday, July 17 at 8:00 P.M. EST.  The pre-race broadcast begins at 7:00 p.m. EST on ESPN2.
