Crown Royal and Jamie McMurray Donate $25,000 to the Drive for Autism Celebrity-Am Golf Outing

DOVER, Del. (MAY 30, 2008) – Crown Royal and the Jamie McMurray Foundation are teaming up to donate $25,000 to the 7th Annual Drive for Autism Celebrity-Am Golf Outing.  Proceeds from the tournament, which was held at the Dupont Country Club in Wilmington, Del., on Thursday, May 29, 2008, will be donated to the Autism Society of Delaware, which is committed to improving the lives of individuals with autism and their families.

The golf tournament kicked off a weekend of activities dedicated to raising awareness for autism, including this weekend’s Best Buy 400 Benefiting Student Clubs for Autism Speaks NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Dover International Speedway.

“I can’t tell you how great it is to have a sponsor like Crown Royal support a cause for which I am very passionate,” said McMurray.  “Artie (Kempner) and his team do a great job of putting on this tournament every year and yesterday was no exception.  We had a great time on the course.

It’s great to know this donation will help some very special families and go a long way toward finding a cure for autism.”

This donation marks the latest of multiple efforts made by McMurray and Crown Royal to support autism research including special paint schemes, auctions and a variety of programs through the Jamie McMurray Foundation.
