DAYTONA BEACH, FL (February 13, 2008) -- David Ragan is back for another campaign in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2008. The reigning Rookie of the Year will again pilot the No. 6 Discount Tire Ford Fusion. Ragan appears ready to build on his impressive fifth-place finish in the final point standings. The entire Discount Tire crew has stayed intact and is still led by veteran crew chief Mike Kelley. After extensive testing in the off season Ragan and the Discount Tire team are primed to supplant Carl Edwards as the dominant Roush Fenway Racing entry in the Nationwide Series.
“We had solid test sessions during the off season,” said Ragan. I want to really show everyone what kind of team we have and it all starts at Daytona. The Camping World 300 is one of the biggest races of the year and this Discount Tire team is ready for the challenge. A win is the only thing on my mind this early in the season, but a championship is the ultimate goal for everyone here at Roush Fenway Racing.”
“We have high expectations for our team this year,” said Kelley. "Our goal is to win races and contend for a championship. I think we left a lot on the table last year and now it is time to clean up. I am confident we have the team to pull off a memorable season.”
