July 30, 2014 (Concord, NC) – This weekend there will be a Fastenal Ford in both the Iowa Nationwide Series race and the Pocono Sprint Cup
Series race. Carl Edwards will be piloting the trademark blue and white No. 99 Ford for his 20th Sprint Cup start at the Tricky Triangle, where he has two wins in the record books. Chris Buescher will be making only his second Iowa start in the NASCAR Nationwide Series but has four ARCA starts, including two top-five finishes, at the Midwestern short track. Watch for Buescher in the No. 60 Fastenal Ford during the Saturday night race.
“I know the Iowa track is the closest we get to Fastenal headquarters in Minnesota, so I’m hoping to put their blue and white Ford up front for the home crowd on Saturday,” said Buescher. “I’ve had some success there in the ARCA Series, and as a driver it’s a track you look forward to on the schedule. They get a great crowd, and the night racing makes it pretty exciting for the fans.”
Fastenal goes into this weekend’s double-header following last Sunday’s big announcement that they will serve as the anchor sponsor for Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s No. 17 Ford starting in 2015.
“Fastenal is a first-class partner, and we’re extremely pleased to have them team with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and the No. 17 team starting next year,” said Roush Fenway co-owner Jack Roush. “Ricky has accomplished a great deal in a short time and continues to improve each week. We have very high expectations for his success in the future, and I’m thrilled that Fastenal will be a part of that.”
Fans can tune in to the NASCAR Nationwide race this Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN. The Pocono Sprint Cup Series race coverage will begin this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
