Kenseth’s Top-10 Finish Leads Roush Fenway Effort in Atlanta

Hampton, Ga. (Sept. 2, 2012) – Matt Kenseth scored a ninth-place finish to lead the Roush Fenway effort in Sunday night’s 500-mile Sprint Cup race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Greg Biffle started the race on the front row, but struggled the majority of the night and finished 15th. Carl Edwards had driven his Ford inside the top five before mechanical issues dropped him out of the race and to a 36th-place finish. Edwards will need a win next weekend at Richmond to have a chance to secure a spot in this year’s Chase to the Sprint Cup.

Biffle and Kenseth each secured their spot in the 12-car field last weekend at Bristol. After 25 races Biffle leads the Sprint Cup point standings; Kenseth is third.
