CONCORD, N.C. (MARCH 13, 2008) – This afternoon, Roush Fenway Racing driver Jamie McMurray will launch an online auction allowing fans to bid on a VIP weekend at Texas Motor Speedway on April 4th – 6th. The weekend will include two NASCAR garage passes, two VIP suite passes to the Victory Lane Suites at Texas Motor Speedway, and an autographed replica helmet painted by Nick Pastura.
“It’s exciting to be launching the auction this afternoon,” said McMurray. “With April being ‘National Autism Awareness’ month, it seems like the perfect fit. One fan is going to win a total VIP weekend at Texas Motor Speedway with me and the entire No. 26 Crown Royal team.”
The weekend will be kicked off with a special paint scheme on the No. 26 Crown Royal Ford Fusion. McMurray’s Ford Fusion will sport the Crown Royal Cask No. 16 paint scheme. Along with the black and gold look, the No. 26 machine will also don the autism awareness puzzle pieces.
“We did a similar auction in Dover last year,” said McMurray. “Last year we created a special firesuit and helmet, and auctioned both off following the weekend. This year, we wanted to make it bigger and better for the fans, and hopefully give them a weekend they won’t soon forget. Also, this is a great way to raise awareness for autism and the Jamie McMurray Foundation.”
The two winners of the online auction will win two NASCAR garage passes, which allow behind-the-scenes access in the NASCAR garage. They will receive two Victory Lane Club suite passes where they can relax and enjoy the Samsung 500. The two fans will also receive a replica Crown Royal Cask No. 16 helmet painted by McMurray’s helmet painter, Nick Pastura.

“It’s exciting that Crown Royal is giving us space on the car to run the puzzle pieces, and that Texas Motor Speedway donated the suite passes. It’s great to see everyone pulling together to help support the Jamie McMurray Foundation and autism awareness.”
