New Store Opens at Roush Fenway Racing

Concord, N.C. (May 18, 2009) – Jack Roush with the help of Concord Mayor Scott Padgett, Chairman of County Commissioners Jay White and Chamber CEO John Cox, cut the ribbon for the new Roush Fenway Racing store opening and the team’s corporate headquarters in Concord, N.C.  The ribbon-cutting ceremony and official unveiling of Roush Fenway’s new store helped kick off the team’s Speedweek activities just prior to the All Star race.

“We’ve renovated our store and have several things that we think will generate interest,” said Roush.  “We have specialty items that are not available any other place with regards to sponsors in some cases or drivers in other cases.  We’ll have some sheet metal items and reasonable price points throughout the store.

“In addition to the store we have a number of kiosks around that review the driver’s history and success or have information about our sponsors.”  Roush continued, “We’re going to try and keep everything fresh as far as cars and information so every time someone comes to a Charlotte event there will be something fresh to look at.”

The Roush Fenway Racing store and museum is a destination location for thousands of people every year.  The goal of the store re-design is to enhance the fan experience and provide a larger product mix for all their sponsors and drivers.  Also new to the store are store exclusive items which you can only find at that location and are marked by a special sticker.  Additionally, fans can purchase authentic race-used items such as sheet metal and uniforms for the first time ever as well as Boston Red Sox merchanidse.

“When you Google him (Jack Roush) and all the things that he has done he has been a leader in so many things, of course all forms of motorsports,” said Mayor Padgett.  “When he decided to move his operations to Concord it was very exciting for us.  He set the standard when he built his race shops right here.

“Congratulations on your new facility and how you’ve modernized it.”  Mayor Padgett continued, “We’ll have thousands of people here, over the next few days, come through and enjoy seeing what you’ve got.”

Roush Fenway will continue their Speedweek activities this Thursday, May 21 with driver autograph sessions from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (a limited number of tickets will be distributed at 8:00 a.m. that morning).  Their festivities will continue into Friday, May 22 with pit stop exhibitions from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
