David Ragan has quietly become one of the most consistent drivers in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2008. Ragan has amassed an impressive resume full of strong finishes and a few near misses. He has collected 14 top-10 and four top-five finishes. Ragan has completed every lap in all but two races this season, and is averaging a 12th-place finish through the first 21 races. Ragan has run upfront all year long and is still looking for that elusive first victory after flirting with wins at Kentucky, Phoenix and Richmond. Ragan is currently fifth in the championship point standings. Clearly, consistency has been the theme for Ragan and the Discount Tire team in 2008.
“We have had some close calls this year,” said Ragan. “I am pleased with our level of consistency every week. Our preparation has been good and our team has been working really hard in the shop. I know it is only a matter of time before we get to victory lane. It is so hard to win at this level of auto racing, but that’s what makes you compete hard and leave everything on the race track. A win is the only thing on my mind right now, but a championship is the ultimate goal for everyone here at Roush Fenway Racing.”
