Rain Forces Cancellation of Sprint Cup Practice/Qualifying in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nevada (March 6, 2013) – Persistent desert rainfall forced the cancellation of all NASCAR Sprint Cup activity at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday. Both the day’s Cup practice session and qualifying were canceled, with the lineup for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race being set on the final owner point standings from 2012.

With the rain out, Greg Biffle will start fifth in Sunday’s Kobalt Tools 400. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will start seventh and Carl Edwards will start 16th.

The teams will attempt to return to action tomorrow for a pair of practice sessions starting at 9:00 A.M PST.

The Nationwide Series will still try and get on track today for a two-hour practice session, time permitting.
