SPEEDWAY, IN. (July 26, 2014) – Chris Buescher qualified his Roush Performance Ford Mustang in the top ten for his inaugural Brickyard visit in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) Lilly Diabetes 250 on Saturday afternoon at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The No.60 team made a track bar adjustment on the first pit stop of the day to correct a ‘free’ handling race car. Additional track bar adjustments were done during the two remaining pit stops.
At the midway point the No. 60 gained on the leaders running in eighth-place when the third caution waived for debris. The Roush Performance team opted not to come into pit, hoping to keep track position.
As the race concluded, the rookie finished eleventh.
“This was pretty cool. I had a good time.” Buescher said after the 100-lap race. “This place is awesome, with all of the heritage and tradition around every corner. That was the hottest I have ever been in a racecar, but the team kept me focused on the task at hand.”
Buescher will return to Iowa, a stand-alone Nationwide Series race weekend on Saturday, August 2nd at 8 PM. Buescher has move to seventh in points.
