Sonoma, Calif. (June 23, 2013) – Roush Fenway Racing’s (RFR) Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle qualified third and fourth in Saturday afternoon’s Sprint Cup qualifying session at Sonoma Raceway and will start on the second row for the series’ first road course race of the season on Sunday.
“I was really happy with the lap,” said Edwards, who scored his career best qualifying effort at Sonoma. “I made a couple of mistakes, but it’s a good start on a road course for me. To be anywhere near Marcos Ambrose in qualifying at a road course is an honor.
“This is the most fun race of the year,” said Edwards. “To me it’s so fun, because it’s such a challenge. The area is a beautiful place to come and visit. The fans really enjoy the race and it’s just a great place to come race.”
Biffle will start the race beside Edwards on the second row. RFR rookie Stenhouse will have his work cut out for him in his Sonoma debut, qualifying 37th.
