Concord, N.C (Oct. 11, 2012) - In only his third Sprint Cup race of the 2012 season, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will start in the 29th-position for Saturday night’s Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The No. 6 team had one hour-and-a-half practice session on Thursday to get the No. 6 Best Buy Ford Fusion dialed in to make the show. The 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Champion finished 25th on the speed charts of practice session one.
Stenhouse’s No. 6 Ford was the 23rd car to take to the track for his qualifying effort. The No. 6 Best Buy Ford Fusion posted a fast lap time of 28.423 seconds (189.987 mph) which earned Stenhouse the 29th starting position for Saturday’s 334-lap race.
“Honestly, we have struggled all day,” commented Stenhouse after his qualifying effort. “We have to qualify in on time so I think that lap will be decent. We have two more practices tomorrow to get our No. 6 Best Buy Ford Fusion dialed in.
The Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway will be televised on Saturday, October 13 starting at 7:00p.m. EST on ABC, with radio coverage presented by the Motor Racing Network (MRN).
