Stenhouse Starts Sixth for Daytona Qualifying Races

Daytona Beach, Fla. (Feb. 18, 2013) – Sprint Cup rookie of the year contender, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. posted a fast lap of 46.027 seconds (195.537mph) at the legendary Daytona International Speedway during Sunday’s qualifying session, earning him a sixth-place starting position in the second duel on Thursday.

“It wasn’t good enough for the pole but I felt our Best Buy Ford drove the best it has all weekend,” said the two-time NASCAR Nationwide champion. “We beat a few of the guys that were faster than us yesterday so we are happy. We had good speed so I look forward to the Duels and to see how our Ford drives in the draft.”

The No. 17 Best Buy Ford Fusion will return to the 2.5-mile track on Wednesday, February 20th to work on race set-up for the qualifying duels on Thursday which sets the remainder of the starting line-up for the Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 24th.

The Budweiser Duels at Daytona International Speedway will be televised on Thursday, February 21st starting at 2 p.m. EST on FOX.
