Hi Roush Fenway Racing fans!
"Well, I can't believe it is here already! I'm talking about my visit to Concord, NC and Roush Fenway Racing headquarters, and for the Coca-Cola 600. To say I am excited would be an understatement at this point. I am so elated to be the 2008 RFR Fan of the Year, and to get this opportunity is a moment I will relish in my life forever! Again, I am honored to be your choice for Fan of the Year. I hope I have represented you (the fans), well so far. The picture that you see with this article is of my 5th grade class showing our unending support for Roush Fenway Racing. They are a tremendous group of students, and even finer young individuals whom I have had the pleasure of teaching this year. They have been very involved with my articles and they have had a great time being part of the RFR family alongside me. I think Roush Fenway Racing has become a permanent household name with them! That's a great thing, of course! I thank them for their involvement, especially as our school year is about to come to a close in three weeks.
"Of course, I get to live out a race fan's dream this Memorial Day weekend by being a guest of Roush Fenway Racing in Concord, North Carolina. My wife and I are looking forward to meeting as many of the RFR employees, team members, crew members, drivers, and their respective sponsors, as we can while we are in town. I hear there are many neat things planned for us while we are there. We can't wait and we are looking forward to this wonderful opportunity. We intend to make the most of it! If you're coming to the races, be sure to stop by or find me, introduce yourself to me, and get to know me a little bit. I'm sure we all share the same passion for the Roush Fenway Racing organization and I would love to meet you and chat about things if you'd like to do so. There are a lot of awesome things going on at the RFR headquarters this weekend, so be sure to stop by and have a great time!
"It’s now time for a preview of racing action at Lowe's Motor Speedway this weekend. I would love to see a Roush Fenway car get into victory lane in the Nationwide Series and in the Sprint Cup Series, as I know all the fans would too. This is the right time to get things going and lay a "whooping" on the other teams (no disrespect intended)! I know our guys are hungry and this race is the longest of the year, so it's going to require a lot of patience by everyone on the teams. This race is always tough because of the transition of track conditions from day to night, and the engines have to really be taken care of because of the 600 miles that are run. I hope our engine tuners are ready to rock and roll, because this race traditionally has a lot of attrition with blow ups in the motors. I'm sure the RFR teams are well planned for this stuff, and let's all hope we see Greg, Matt, Jamie, Carl, Or David in victory lane on Sunday! That would be the topper for my trip to Charlotte! I want to wish every driver and team member the very best of luck in the 600 this weekend, and may we come home in first, second, third, fourth, and fifth respectively! Let's get 'em this time boys! You can do it!"
Your 2008 RFR Fan of the Year,
