Texas Native Buescher Leads Roush Fenway Effort in Nationwide Series at TMS

FT. WORTH, Texas (April 12, 2013) –Roush Fenway Racing (RFR) rookie and Texas native Chris Buescher led the RFR effort with a 17th-place finish in Friday night’s Nationwide Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.  Buescher ran a solid and patient race, notching the highest finish for a Roush Fenway Ford for the second time in his two starts this season.

On what was a tough night for Roush Fenway, Trevor Bayne had driven to fifth position and was coming fast, before his No. 6 Cargill Beef Ford overheated after collection grass on the grill. The team was forced to pit and put water in the car; losing two laps. Bayne went on to finish 26th.

What looked like a strong night for RFR’S Travis Pastrana was derailed early after he had issues with the rear end of his No. 60 Ford Mustang.  He was forced to the garage for repairs and finished 33rd; 14 laps down.

Roush Fenway’s Nationwide Series program returns to action in two weeks at Richmond International Raceway, where RFR boasts nine wins in NNS action.
