Viva Las Vegas
Apparently everyone over the age of 21 has been to Las Vegas at least once. Before last Thursday, that was not the case for me.
We flew out to Vegas early Thursday morning. My coworker Rob and I explored a little bit before eating lunch. Culture shock would be an understatement for what I experienced. (Good job sheltering me, Mom and Dad. Vegas is scary!).
Friday was a wash, literally. There was a lot of hurry up and wait. I can’t say that I was expecting heavy rain in the desert, but that’s what we got. NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) track activity was cancelled.
NNS cars finally made it onto the track on Saturday morning. The cars were initially set to qualify on Saturday, but with the rain cancelling Friday track activity, a practice session was scheduled instead.
When the green flag finally dropped for the Sam’s Town 300, the No. 60 Ford Mustang was very good. Travis Pastrana worked his way up from 31st, to match his career-best finish of 10th.
On to Bristol this week! Attending college in Blacksburg, Va. makes Bristol a little more my speed than Vegas!
