Bayne Gets Top-10 Finish In The Sprint Showdown At Charlotte

CONCORD, N.C. (May 15, 2015) – Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion, earned a seventh-place finish on Friday night in the Sprint Showdown at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

“I’m happy we were able to get a solid finish tonight,” said Bayne after the race.  “We were so tight during the first segment but I feel like we made some good adjustments during that pit stop that gave this AdvoCare Ford the opportunity to make some moves during segment two. I just want to thank my guys for all their hard work tonight. This was good learning heading into the 600 here next weekend.”

Bayne began the 40-lap event from the 15th position and immediately reported to crew chief Bob Osborne that the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford was very tight through the corners. Maintaining his position inside the top 20 throughout the first segment, Bayne would hit pit road for four tires and a chassis adjustment during the break between segments.

Returning to the track in 13th, the Knoxville, Tenn. native wasted little time moving forward, working his way up to the eighth position just three laps into the second segment. Bayne would remain inside the top 10 for the rest of the 20-lap segment and continue to improve his position in the closing stages, taking the checkered flag in the seventh position.

Up next for Bayne and the AdvoCare team is the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway next weekend.
