ADVANCE NOTES

Bayne at Atlanta

Trevor Bayne will make his third career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend. In two previous starts at the 1.5-Mile oval, Bayne recorded a best finish of 16th in Sept. 2012.

In 35 career starts on 1.5-Mile tracks in the NSCS, Bayne has earned an average start of 22.9 and an average finish of 23.6.

Bayne previously raced at Atlanta in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, making five starts and recording one top-10 finish, a seventh-place finish on Aug. 31, 2013.

Recapping Daytona

Bayne took the green flag for the 58th running of the Daytona 500 from the 23rd position after finishing 12th in the Duel 150 qualifying race on Thursday evening. The driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion consistently ran inside the top 20 for much of the early portion of the 200-Lap race before getting collected in a multi-car incident on Lap 56. The damage to the nose proved problematic for much of the remainder of the event, ultimately leading to a 28th-place finish.

Matt Puccia at Atlanta

Puccia will call his sixth NSCS race at Atlanta on Sunday. Puccia’s best finish at the Georgia track is 10th in Sept. 2014.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bayne on racing at Atlanta:

“Atlanta is a ton of fun to race on. You can race right against the wall or right on the white line. It has a lot of character to it and really wears out the tires. I love racing there and hopefully (crew chief) Matt (Puccia) will get this AdvoCare Ford dialed in and we will have a great run on Sunday.”
