Carl Edwards’ NASCAR career began in 2002 when he ran a handful of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races for a team based in his home state of Missouri. His performance, however was enough to catch the attention of Jack Roush who hired Edwards to drive one of his trucks for the full season in 2003. Edwards claimed rookie of the year honors and collected six wins during his two-year tenure in the truck series.
