After an off weekend we are getting ready to go to Bristol. We’ve been kind of up and down the last few weeks. We’ve had some good cars, but don’t really have any good finishes to show for it. We’re looking forward to going back to Bristol where we won the Nationwide race last year and our UPS ford was fast. It’s one of my favorite tracks on the schedule and it’s always a lot of fun. I do like the night race a little more than the Sunday afternoon race, but regardless, 500 laps at Bristol is always a good time. We’re taking a good car this weekend and we’ve gotten some testing in this week. Hopefully the weather will be good and we’re going to go run hard for 500 miles and it should be a lot of fun.
I spent the first part of this week testing. Monday we went to Little Rock with our Martinsville car. I think the test went really well, we tried some new brake stuff that I have never run before that Donnie wanted to try. I like them and I just got some direction on changes we will make at Martinsville next weekend.
Tuesday was fun; I spent the day in Talladega. We kept changing plate size and spoiler size all day. NASCAR would come by and say cut an inch of here and there, so every run on the track was a different combination. There will be some good racing if NASCAR makes the right call on the plate size and rear spoiler size. I think they have some good combinations to work with that will the make the cars drive well and be really fast.
Hopefully we’ll see some of you guys in Tennessee and everyone else will be watching back home!
