Best Buy Sticks with Roush Fenway

Best Buy confirmed that it has renewed its sponsorship deal with Roush Fenway Racing for the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Season. Best Buy will serve as primary sponsor of Ricky Stenhouse Jr.'s No. 17 Ford Fusion for 12 races and Carl Edwards' No. 99 Ford for four races. In addition, Best Buy will be an associate sponsor for each as well.

“Best Buy has been delighted with its partnership with the Roush Fenway Racing this year. Our sponsorship has enabled us to reach our target audiences in meaningful ways and to maximize the value of our investment,” said Stephen Gillett, president, Best Buy Digital, Global Marketing & Strategy for Best Buy. “Roush Fenway Racing has been a great fit for Best Buy Racing and NASCAR continues to be one of the important ways for us to connect with our customers, in much the same way that we use a range of sales channels to reach those same customers."

Team co-owner Jack Roush said he looked forward to running Stenhouse, the reigning Nationwide Series champ, in Sprint Cup. Stehouse will be replacing longtime Roush-Fenway driver Matt Kenseth, who is moving to Joe Gibbs Racing next season.

“It will be an exciting transition for Ricky and the team next season,” said Roush. “We take great pride in driver development, and it is rewarding for all involved any time we are able to watch one of our young men grow and progress. We have seen Ricky develop into a NASCAR Nationwide Series champion, and now his career path comes to fruition in the Sprint Cup Series next season. It is certainly going to be a lot of fun to watch as Ricky continues to improve his skills each week as his progression rate is accelerated by the increased level of competition around him in the Sprint Cup Series.”
Roush told NASCAR.com that he expects Stenhouse and crew chief Jimmy Fennig will work together on the No. 17 Ford.

"From what I see right now, I think that's very likely," Roush said. "But I stop short of saying that is what we'll wind up deciding. There's a seat at the table for all three drivers, and there's great crew and great personnel behind all three. And we'll make an arrangement that we think is in our best interests when the time is best for us."
