ADVANCE NOTES

Reed at Road America

Reed has competed at Road America in the NASCAR XFINITY Series just once, finishing 21st after starting 14th in 2014. In his first appearance, Reed ran just outside of the top 10 for most of the race, but fell back after having to pit for fuel as the race was extended by a late caution.

Reed also competed in the Pirelli World Challenge race at Road America in 2014. He finished second after being in contention for the win and leading several laps.

Riding with Ryan

American Diabetes Association® Youth Ambassador Kaitlin Radtke of Milwaukee, Wis. will have her name featured on a decal above the passenger-side door on the No. 16 Ford Mustang this weekend at Road America. The 18-year-old high school senior was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2007 at the age of 10, but hasn’t let the disease slow her down. Radtke participates in the American Diabetes Association of Milwaukee’s Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes® and plans to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and help special needs children once she graduates.

Bristol Recap

Reed finished 25th at Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday night after a flat tire halfway through the race forced him to make an unscheduled pit stop. Shortly after, Reed was caught up in an incident on the track, which eventually relegated him to a 25th-place finish.

2015 Season

Reed is currently 10th in the NASCAR XFINITY Series championship standings after one win and 12 top-15 finishes.

Reed on Road America

“Racing at Road America for the first time last year was awesome. Racing in the rain was really fun and we had a really good run going before we had to pit for fuel at the end of the race. I would say that race was my best road course race of the year last year and I feel comfortable there. With the course being so long – over four miles – it’s really tough to put together a perfect lap so it’s challenging, but really fun.”

Tune-in

Reed and the rest of the NASCAR XFINITY Series will take the green flag from Road America on Saturday, August 29 at 3 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network and MRN.
