Stenhouse Finishes 23rd In Sprint Showdown

CONCORD, N.C. (May 15, 2015) – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. maneuvered his Fastenal Ford up in the top-five with 15 laps remaining in the second 20-lap segment before having to make an unscheduled pit stop for a loose wheel forcing Stenhouse to settle for a 23rd-place finish in Friday night’s Sprint Showdown at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

After battling a tight machine in Friday’s qualifying session, the two-time XFINITY Series champion started the first 20-lap shootout in the 12th position and quickly maneuvered his Fastenal Ford inside the top-10 before the caution flag waved ending the first 20-lap segment.

After a four tire pit stop during the break, the 2013 Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year restarted ninth and quickly bullied his was up to the fifth position but relinquished his position when he was forced to pit-road for an unscheduled pit stop causing Stenhouse to settle for a 23rd-place finish in his third Sprint Showdown start.
