Stenhouse Jr. Will Make His 125th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Start at Same Track as His First Start

CONCORD, N.C (May 25, 2016) – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will make his 125th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the same track where he got his first NSCS start in 2011 driving the legendary No. 21 machine earning a respectable 11th – place finish as a rookie. With 14 races remaining before the NSCS Chase cut-off, Stenhouse is just a mere 10 points out of 16th place.

“Charlotte has always been a special place to me,” Stenhouse said. “In 2011, I got my first Sprint Cup start there in the famed No. 21. It was an honor to race for the Wood Brothers with their rich history in NASCAR. I earned my best finish of 11th here that year so hopefully we can improve this weekend and earn a top-10 finish.”

In his previous 124 NSCS starts, the two-time XFINITY champion earned his best career finish at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2014 finishing second behind former Roush Fenway teammate Carl Edwards after an unexpected caution came with two laps remaining followed by a rain shower.

The Coca -Cola 600 will be televised on May 29, 2016 on FOX at 6 p.m. ET. Race coverage can also be heard on Performance Racing Network (PRN) and SIRIUS Channel 90.
