ADVANCE NOTES

Stenhouse at Kansas Speedway

Stenhouse has four Sprint Cup starts at Kansas Speedway with an average starting position of 12.0 and average finishing position of 20.5.

Stenhouse knows how to get to victory lane at Kansas. In 2012, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. overcame being two laps down with less than a 100 laps remaining to persevere to claim his sixth win of the 2012 NASCAR XFINITY season at Kansas Speedway.

Last time at Kansas

Stenhouse Jr. battled an ill-handling Zest Ford for a majority of Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race forcing the two-time champion to settle for a 22nd – place finish.

Zest

Zest is currently in its fourth season as a primary partner in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for Roush Fenway. They have spent all four years on the No. 17 machine; one year with Matt Kenseth and three years with Stenhouse.

Zest adorned the No. 17 machine at Bristol Motor Speedway where Stenhouse picked up his first top five of the season.

Stenhouse Jr. on racing at Kansas:

“Kansas is a fast, smooth track, which I really like. We have been working really hard on our intermediate program. We’ve finished in the top 15 at the past two intermediate tracks and have made some more gains since Texas. I’m confident that we will have a strong showing in our Zest Ford this weekend.”

Nick Sandler on racing at Kansas:

“Kansas is a fast, smooth 1.5-mile track and Ricky has some success there. In the past two intermediate tracks, we have scored two top-15 finishes. The tires usually don’t wear so pit strategy becomes a factor because you want to minimize the amount of time you are on pit road. It would be awesome to put the Zest Ford back in victory lane like in 2012.”
