ADVANCE NOTES

Stenhouse at Texas Motor Speedway

Stenhouse has four Sprint Cup starts at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) with an average starting position of 18.0 and average finishing position of 26.2.

Stenhouse knows how to get to victory lane at TMS. In 2012, he held off Sprint Cup veteran Denny Hamlin to claim his first victory at Texas Motor Speedway in the NASCAR XFINITY Series

Last time at Texas

After overcoming being two laps down and two green-white-checkered attempts, Stenhouse drove his Ford to a 23rd-place finish, while battling a loose machine on the final restarts.

The Car

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and the No. 17 team will be racing a new chassis at Texas.

Zest

Zest is currently in its fourth season as a primary partner in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for Roush Fenway. They have spent all four years on the No. 17 machine; one year with Matt Kenseth and three years with Stenhouse.

Zest will also adorn the No. 17 machine next weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Stenhouse Jr. on racing at Texas:

“Texas is one of my favorite tracks. (Track president) Eddie Gossage and team really know how to put on a good show for the fans. We’ve been working extremely hard on improving our 1.5-mile program and feel confident going into this weekend that we have made some gains. This is Zest’s first race of the season and the Zest Ford definitely stands out under the lights. It’s a long race but if we can keep making our Zest Ford better throughout the race then I’m certain we can leave with Texas with a good finish.”

Nick Sandler on racing at Texas:

“After a weekend off, we are rejuvenated and ready to head to Texas. Our organization has been focused on improving our intermediate program and we feel like with this new car that it should be a step in the right direction. We’ve fallen back in the points after Martinsville so we need to have a solid run at Texas and hopefully leave there with a solid finish.”
