Colin Braun to Make CitiFinancial Racing Debut at Nashville Superspeedway

Concord, N.C. (March 18, 2008) - Colin Braun will be behind the wheel of the No. 16 CitiFinancial Ford Fusion this weekend at Nashville Superspeedway; the second-career Nationwide Series start for the 19-year-old Craftsman Truck Series regular. Braun’s Nationwide Series debut came last season at Memphis Motorsports Park.
“I’m very excited to get a chance to drive the No. 16 CitiFinancial Ford Fusion at Nashville,” said Braun. “It’s going to be quite a lot of fun for me. I’ve never raced on a concrete race track before so I’m excited about getting a chance to do that and I’m definitely excited about getting the chance to drive in the Nationwide Series, it’ll be a blast.”
Nashville will be the first of two Nationwide Series races on Braun’s schedule this season; the second coming in April in Mexico City.
“Colin is a talented young driver,” said crew chief Eddie Pardue. “He’s proven he can run well on road courses. This will be his first time on a concrete track and only his second time in a Nationwide Series car. I’m sure it’ll take a little adjusting but he’s a smart kid and I think he’ll do well. He’s done a good job in the Truck Series this year. From what I’ve seen and heard he understands the mechanics and he gives good feedback so as a crew chief that’s a good combination to have in your driver.”
In three Craftsman Truck Series starts this season, Braun has three top-10 starting positions and one top-10 finish.
