Ryan Reed – Iowa Advance
Reed on racing at Iowa Speedway:
“I can’t wait to get back on the track after a week off. I’m excited with the direction this team is heading. I really enjoy this race track, and I’m hoping that my ARCA start a few years ago will help me out here. We led some laps at Talladega and I’d love to put this American Diabetes Association Drive to Stop DiabetesSM presented by Lilly Diabetes Ford Mustang up front again.”
Reed at Iowa Speedway
- Roush Fenway Racing (RFR) rookie Ryan Reed will make his first NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Iowa Speedway this weekend.
- In 2012, Reed made an ARCA Racing Series start at Iowa Speedway, starting third and finishing ninth.
- Chassis RK-801 makes its second start of the season this weekend at Iowa Speedway. This chassis last raced at Bristol Motor Speedway, running strong until a late race accident left the No. 16 machine in 31st.
- Reed earned his career-best starting position in the NNS, qualifying his Mustang in fourth. The 20-year-old driver had the strongest run of his young NNS career, leading 29 laps before being collected in a restrictor-plate racing accident. The No. 16 would ultimately finish 24th.
