Mooresville, N.C (January 28, 2010) — The Greg Biffle Foundation is pleased to announce the recent grant donations to 78 humane societies and animal shelters across the United States.

The Foundation received more than 300 applications throughout the year and was able to assist 78 animal welfare agencies located in 31 different states across the country. Grant awards will be used to assist these animal welfare agencies with spay/neuter programs, vet care, pet supplies and much more.

Like many animal welfare non-profits, the Foundation saw a marked decrease in giving in 2009, and thus were not able to assist as many groups in need as in years past.  However, every dollar does help and the organizations who received funding were extremely grateful.  Deb Martin, President of Greyhound Pets of America, Electric City Chapter said “I cannot thank you enough - our mission is to save as many greyhounds as we can after they retire and this money will certainly help us to do so. Thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. Organizations like yours make organizations like mine able to function and help the helpless. Once again I thank you - we couldn't do it without help from people like you.”

“Amidst a struggling economy where animals are being left behind in record numbers, we are pleased to be able to assist these groups in their important work,” said Emily DiNunzio, Greg Biffle Foundation Executive Director. ”Greg and Nicole continue to find joy in awarding funds to groups striving to make a difference in the lives of animals across the United States.”

The Greg Biffle Foundation was founded in 2005 by Greg and Nicole Biffle to create awareness and serve as an advocate to improve the well-being of animals by engaging the power and passion of the motor sports industry. Financial support for the foundation comes from a variety of sources including individual contributions, NASCAR Pets Calendars, and the sale of various racing and other sports memorabilia. Since its creation, The Greg Biffle Foundation has awarded grants to humane societies and animal shelters from coast to coast. Representing the best interests of the animals and using the full potential of each participant's involvement is the purpose for the Greg Biffle Foundation. Greg and Nicole have three dogs – Foster and his daughter, Gracie, a pair of Boxers who are very familiar to race fans across the country. Foster even graced the front of a Milk Bones box in 2004. The latest addition is Savannah, who was rescued from a Georgia shelter.
