Biffle Finishes 20th In Michigan In 3M Military Salute Ford

BROOKLYN, Mich. (June 15, 2014) – Michigan International Speedway is a home track of sorts for Roush Fenway Racing since Roush Industries and Ford are both located near the track.  Michigan is one of Biffle’s strongest tracks and Biffle went into this weekend as the defending race winner from one year ago.  Early on it seemed as if Biffle’s No. 16 Military Salute Ford Fusion was on its way to the front, but instead the team spent the race battling for grip.  Biffle was able to come back from being a lap down to cross the finish line 20th.

In honor of the military and Father’s Day, Biffle’s Ford had a special patriotic theme in Michigan.  At the start of 200-laps at Michigan, Biffle, who started 18th, reported to his team he needed the left front to be down a little lower but was really good on exit.  As the laps continued, the 3M Ford lost grip on exit and was loose on the track.  Over long green flag runs Biffle went a lap down to the field but an amazing restart in which he gained five spots put him in the lucky dog position just in time for the next caution.

Despite being back on the lead lap, handling woes continued for Biffle and the 3M team.  Wedge, track bar and shim adjustments all helped, but nothing seemed to be exactly what Biffle needed for handling.  When the checkered flag fell Biffle was 20th.
