Hey there Roush Fenway fans!

A big, hearty congratulations to Jamie McMurray and the #26 team for their outstanding victory at Talladega last weekend!  I predicted Jamie might get one more victory before the season's end, and by-golly, he sure did!  it was absolutely wonderful to have RFR back in victory lane again.  February 2009 was a long time ago!  Way to go Jamie, Jack, and the #26 team!  We are all so proud of you!  Now it's on to Texas for the fall race.  Let's hope we can keep the winning going at a track that RFR usually does very well at.

Everything is bigger in Texas they say.  Well, nothing would be bigger than to have Matt, David, Jamie, Greg, or Carl wind up in victory lane on Sunday.  I like our chances this weekend, especially if we unload fast and qualify well.  Texas is a big, 1.5 mile race track that is very fast!  It's a lot like Charlotte and Atlanta, and speeds can get pretty high on this track.  Down force and the right chassis combination will be very important in this race on Sunday.  Our guys will be sure to use the right gear ratios and also the right suspension packages to ensure the highest speeds possible on all 5 of our cars.  If they can hit on the cornering of the cars, look out for RFR on Sunday!  I believe we can take last weekend's victory and build some momentum for next season, and why not start that at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend.

All three NASCAR touring series will be racing in Texas this weekend.  I look for our Nationwide and CWTS teams to perform at their best, and bring home some Texas-sized hardware for the trophy mantles at Roush Fenway Racing.  I think we will be quite competitive this weekend all around.

I hope you all had a nice Halloween weekend.  Ours was rainy and cold in Illinois, and our school costume parade was unfortunately cancelled last Friday.  But that didn't stop me from dressing up in my RFR gear and showing everyone around here which team I support the most.  I mentioned I'd have a picture or two to show you with me in my RFR firesuit. Well, here it is.  My students wanted to know if I would be dressing up as "racecar man" for Halloween, and let's just say I didn't disappoint them!  It's fun being a teacher of elementary-aged students.  They love it when their teacher becomes one of them for the day ( I'm like that every day regardless).  I certainly didn't let some rain and cold temperatures slow me down from celebrating with them!  I made the most of it for sure.  And you know what?  Our teams will make the most of it this weekend as well!  Good luck to all of our teams at Texas, and go Roush Fenway!

Your 2008 RFR Fan of the Year,

Jon
