CONCORD, N.C. (December 2, 2008) - Erik Darnell and the No. 99 Northern Tool + Equipment team entered the 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season with one goal in mind; to win a championship. Darnell’s season could not have started off any better as he captured the pole at Daytona, but a 21st-place finish followed by a string of bad races had the driver of the No. 99 and his team searching for answers.

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (November 14, 2008) – Erik Darnell and the No. 99 Northern Tool + Equipment team came into tonight’s Ford 200 hoping to walk away from the last race of the 2008 season on a high note. In front of an estimated crowd of 30,000 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Darnell got off to a quick start jumping in the top three just minutes into the race. He would soon fight between a tight and loose race truck for the rest of the night ending his season with an 11th-place finish.

Darnell Fades in the Closing Laps to Finish Seventh at Phoenix

AVONDALE, Ariz. (November 7, 2008) – This year’s Lucas Oil 150 started off with high hopes for the No. 99 Northern Tool + Equipment team after Darnell posted the third- quickest time (27.520 seconds) in qualifying placing him inside of row two to start the race. Darnell would stay in the top10 the entire night, but a tight race truck along with worn tires would cost him several spots at the end to finish in seventh place.

Darnell’s Texas Night Upended by Late Flat Tire

FT. WORTH, Texas (October 31, 2008) – It was back at the spring race at Texas Motor Speedway where Erik Darnell and the No. 99 Northern Tool + Equipment team had their night cut short when a flat tire was just one of several things to go wrong for the team that night. Fast forward to tonight’s Chevy Silverado 350K and it felt like déjà vu all over again. As Darnell was making his way into the top three with 37 laps to go, he reported his right-front tire going down.

HAMPTON, Ga. (October 25, 2008) – Erik Darnell and the No. 99 Northern Tool + Equipment team were hoping to make some noise this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He came into Saturday’s E-Z-GO 200 sixth in the Craftsman Truck Series standing with just four races to go in the 2008 season. Darnell’s sixth-place finish moves the team into a tie for fourth in the standings and a lot of added confidence heading into next week’s showdown in Texas.
